Schefflera arboricola - Umbrella plant

A well-known houseplant popular for generations the umbrella plant is an easy plant for a bright spot. The leaflets are arranged in a whorl around the leaf stem giving the plant its common name, the number of leaflets increases as the plant ages. S. arboricola 'Variegata' has the same dark green leaves splashed with gold while 'Nora' is a relatively new cultivar which is much more compact.

Site: Bright indirect light.

Temp: Keep warm over the winter min 60°F.

Water: Water well over the summer months and less over the winter. Place in a pebble tray or mist regularly to keep up humidity

Feeding: A liquid feed every month over the growing season.

Tip: Pinching out the growing tip when the plant is young will give you a much bushier plant.
