Vriesea



Name - Pronounced VREE-se-a. Named after a professor of botany at Amsterdam, Dr. W de Vriese.
Description - Usually red, orange or yellow flame-like swaggering flowers shoot upward out of green strappy leaves.
Origin - Native of tropical Guyana. Can be found throughout Central and South America.
Family - Bromeliad family with approximately 100 known species of Vriesea.
Care Tips - Keep the rosette filled water that has been boiled and allowed to cool to lukewarm. Keep the potting compost moist, though not wet. Mist often or provide humidity - likes to be kept warm and enjoys high level of humidity. Enjoys bright light
